The fortress of Khar Bukh, now in ruins, protected a 17th century monastery, itself erected on the site of an ancient capital of the Kithan state dating from the 10th century. It was inhabited between 917 and 1120. You will only see remnants of stone walls, but the site is worth a visit as it is easy to reach, only a few kilometers from the main road. A small museum right next to the remains will help you understand the history and context surrounding these ruins. Ask the janitor to give you access.
