The cave of Dayan Derkhii was for a long time a place of pilgrimage for the Mongols, who came there to venerate a deified shaman. According to the legend, this shaman, considered as the father of the shamanistic initiation rites, would have become the spirit of the surrounding mountains. The cave, about thirty meters long, is divided into a maze of secondary rooms with, in one of them, a source of mineral water. It is located on the eastern bank of the Tsagaan Uur River. It is one of the most impressive caves in Mongolia.
