Located near theaimag museum, the Buyandelgeruulekh monastery is the main monastery of the city still in activity. It consists of a temple and a ger, both of which can be used for ceremonies. Built in 1586, its plan was enlarged in 1679. Unusually, it was not destroyed during the anti-religious purges of the 1930s. The skulls carved in the wood above the entrance to the main temple are worth seeing.
