DELGERYN CHOIRA MONASTERY

Established on the ruins of a monastery destroyed during the Stalinist purges in the 1930s, this monastery consists of two temples, one of which has been temporarily installed under a ger. We highly recommend a visit to the permanent temple, known as the "Temple of Joy". It is absolutely superb, with its immense Buddha and its many gildings. A new temple has recently been built on the site, proof of the revival of Buddhism in this remote region.
