Some 75 km south of the village of Sanguyn Dalai, these rocks are famous for their inscriptions in ancient Mongolian, dated to the 16th century. The site is named Tsogt Taij after the last known descendant of Chinggis Khaan, who is said to have lived from 1561 to 1637, and to have left his own mark on the rocks. The writings were inscribed in an ancient alphabet difficult to decipher by Mongolian scholars and nationalists. Although they are quite interesting, they alone do not justify a detour to visit the site.
