MOSQUE
Olgiy was for a long time the center of Islam in Mongolia, until the religious purges of the 1930s which led to the destruction of the mosque. The main mosque has been rebuilt and is worth a look. You will recognize it by its three buildings and its blue dome. Except for exceptional events, foreigners are accepted inside, provided they are well dressed. It is best to be there at the time of the Friday prayer, around noon, or better yet, for the breaking of the Ramadan fast. There is an Islamic school next door.
