In the city center, next to the central square. Originally, the Khovd Monastery was not located in the city. It was actually built in the second half of the 18th century, before the Stalinist purges got the better of it in 1937. Razed, like most of the monasteries and temples of Mongolia at that time, it was symbolically placed in the center of the city. Today, its activity remains minimal. It is nevertheless one of the largest in the West.
