Rebuilt in the early 1990s, this monastery replaces another, much larger temple, which was located some 20 kilometers away, and which had housed up to 2,000 monks before being razed in the 1930s during the massive repressions and purges that took place in the country. In its heyday, the monastery housed over a thousand monks in seven temples. Today, it is located on the main avenue. The place is interesting to visit because you can hear chants during the ceremonies.
