THE CAVES OF TABON
Go there and contact
Tabon brings together two hundred caves, and only twenty-nine of them have already been explored. This allows visitors to learn more about prehistory through these famous caves over 50 000 years old. They are home to fossils, rudimentary tools and other remains belonging to the first inhabitants of the Philippines. The main entrance, located at Lipuun point, is 18 m high and 16 m wide. From here, the view on the white sandy beach is superb. A path leads to the cave of Tabon, with a dome with massive dimensions (90 m deep), which is one of the oldest dwellings in Asia.
To get there, take a tour at the National National Museum just before you arrive at Quezon. It is open in the week from 8 a. m. to 12 p. m. and from 13 p. m. to 17 p. m. the entrance is free. There you can organize an excursion to the caves for about 800 P. It takes a small half hour of boat and a few extra minutes of walking.
