ST. FARGHEON CHURCH
In the 12th century, the Benedictines of the Limousin Abbey of Port-Dieu built the Saint-Fargheon church with exposed stone and local granite. It has an elegant south portal and a harmonious chevet with a modillion illustrating the theme of the Paschal Lamb, rarely addressed in Auvergne iconography. The nave and its side aisles end in oriented chapels. Its eighteen Romanesque capitals reveal interesting plant motifs and human forms, one of which depicts a popular scene on the theme of the goose thief, typical of the fabliaux whose Middle Ages were fond of. The church has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1913.
