Easily accessible by scooter, just 30 minutes from Surigao City, the floating village of Day-Asan is nicknamed the "Venice of Surigao". The village is home to some 1,800 inhabitants and 400 houses. Visitors will appreciate the picturesque appearance of the bamboo and nippa houses on stilts, raised above the shallow water. Fishermen's small boats pass beneath the houses. The local population lives mainly from lobster and crab fishing.
