INSTITUT FRANÇAIS
This cultural centre has existed for over 45 years. Its aim is to promote French culture and Franco-Slovenian relations. A French institute already existed in the inter-war period, presided over by the great Slovenian poet Oton Zupančič. Charles Nodier (1780-1844), a romantic poet who gave great importance to dreams and for whom the Earth is "only a place of passage", lived for a time in Ljubljana during the time of the Illyrian provinces. The cultural centre now organizes exhibitions, readings and concerts. A beautiful showcase of what France is all about.
