The church, built in 1726, is very representative of the Ljubljana Baroque school. Its facade, with pillars and frontispiece, is imposing. The marble altar by Francesco Robba (1744) represents the allegorical figures of Hope, Faith and Love. The column of the Holy Trinity is the work of Luka Mislej and Robba. The original golden statuette, The Citizen of Emona, found in 1836 during construction work on the north side of the square, can be seen in the National Museum.
