STARI TRG
Stari Trg is an emblematic street and not a square, although one can guess the old center near the church of St. James (sv. Jakob). The historian Janez Vajkard Vahasor was born at no. 4 (former municipal bakery). The Schweiger Palace (no. 11) has a rococo facade. An Atlas supporting the balcony puts a finger on the lips. It symbolizes the name of the owner, Schweiger (the silent one, in German). Column of Mary (17th century) as a token of thanks, the Turks having spared the city. Transformed by Plečnik in 1927.
