It is the only real island of the country, constituting its most beautiful postcard. Disembarkation is by pletna, the local gondola. Departures take place near the Park Hotel as well as in Mlino, the regatta center (opposite the Park Hotel). The first inhabitants of the island are thought to have lived here around 1100 BC. On the site of the present church, there was a cult of the goddess Ïiva, who was worshipped by the Slavs in the Middle Ages and was sung by the poet France Prešeren.

Pour y aller il y a plusieurs moyens d'y parvenir, soit par vos propres forces physiques en louant un bateau à rame (pas trop fatiguant) ou alors prendre le bateau touristique beaucoup plus cher et qui lui est dirigé par un rameur "local" et vous serez jusqu'à une dizaine sur le bateau. La traversée est facile à effectuer soit même pour aller visiter cette église située sur l'île

Seules 45 min sont accordées pour les visiteurs arrivés avec les barques traditionnelles mais ça suffit amplement pour faire le tour de cette petite île et profiter d’un café en terrasse

We rented a boat to get to the island. It is a very nice and funny activity (even more group) to walk on the lake then arrive then on the island. The latter is, enter different with a low path that enable you to take all around it and a small church culminating at the end of a monumental staircase. The restaurant has a magnificent view and you will not fail to taste the typical cakes: Potica, far from the industrial cakes. This island is worth a visit if you go to Village.
