In the summer, people flock to its banks for swimming, canoeing, sunbathing and views of the peaks. In winter, the landscape is an invitation to contemplate the view of Slovenia's highest peaks. This glacial lake, fed by the Savica River, is the largest of natural origin. It covers an area of 3.5 km² and its depth reaches 45 m. There are many aquatic species, including the famous trout. Fishing is allowed but regulated.
