A second home for modern adventurers

Koren Kobarid Camp is a second home for modern adventurers. We can be found on the left bank of the river Soča, not far from Kobarid, where the river Soča passes through a narrow mountain valley via several meanders with a bed made of white pebbles.

Near the campsite the river Soča flows through a deep valley and over the Kozjak waterfalls to the renovated World War I front line. In Kobarid you can visit the World War I Museum which is considered one of the most interesting museums of its kind in Europe.

Koren Camp was one of the first Slovenian campsites to obtain the Eco label, the European certificate for ecotourism.

The river Soča starts its course in the Julian Alps. Its upper course is considered one of the best preserved rivers in the Alps.

Why Koren Kobarid Camp?

Respect for nature and for others is a virtue that Koren Camp has always pursued since its establishment. When we set up our campsite on the terraces here in 1991 this part of the river was hardly visited by tourists and even less by travellers with tents, rucksacks or canoes. Koren Camp was the first campsite in the area. We were the first campsite between Kobarid and Tolmin and have been considered pioneers in camping tourism ever since.

With more than 20 years of tradition we have not fallen asleep, but on the contrary it stimulates us to go even further in the quality of the offer. Every year we have something new to offer our guests and this is certainly the reason why a third of our visitors come back. Some of them come back even more often due to the diversity of the landscape offered by the four seasons.

With every attempt to renew our offer we first and foremost respect the environment and nature. We are aware that nature gives us everything we need: life, wisdom, peace, happiness, joy, freedom, food for body and soul. Obtaining the European Ecolabel for a campsite that respects the environment was a logical step in this desire. We are proud that we are the first campsite in Slovenia to receive this recognition and hope that others in this country will follow.
