Just before Šmartno, coming from Deskle, you notice a kind of grey tower, not very attractive. Out of curiosity, you cross the hamlet and take the small road that climbs on your right. It's actually an observation tower, about 20 metres high. It has several floors and offers the most beautiful view of Goriška Brda. You will see Italy nearby and Nova Gorica. You will understand the nature of the Italian attraction of the Slovenes in the region. Above all, you will admit that his nickname of Slovenian Tuscany is not usurped.
