There are many trains between Metlika and Novo Mesto. The railway station is quite tiny. However, it has a direct line to Ljubljana, three to four times a day. However, the journey is relatively long, about 3 hours. The bus station, located in the city centre, offers connections to Novo mesto of course, but also to Otočec and Črnomelj. The best way to reach the capital is by train!
