In Maribor, there is a festival around wine-growing that ends in November with the transformation of must into wine on St. Martin's Day.
The festival starts with the celebration of the harvest of the oldest vine in the world (Stara Trta) at the beginning of October. This is a major wine and gastronomic event that has been celebrated for many decades. At the same time, numerous concerts, tasting workshops and events for young and old are organised on the banks of the Drava. A little tip: stay for dinner, the food-trucks on offer are more than tempting!
