FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE MARIONNETTES (POLETNI LUTKOVNI PRISTAN)

Every year, Maribor plays host to the International Puppet Festival, also known as Poletni lutkovni pristan. Organized by the Lutkovno gledališče Maribor since 1990, this festival has become a must-see summer event in the city. In August, thousands of visitors come to enjoy a varied program including puppet shows for children and adults, workshops, exhibitions and other events. Thanks to the support of the municipality of Maribor, local puppeteers attract the best artists in the world of puppetry every year. Since the festival's 30th anniversary, the best performance, as judged by the children's jury, has been awarded the Golden Giraffe prize.
