HERMITAGE CHAPEL
Chapelle de l'Hermitage, with its crypt, is well worth a visit, offering a magnificent view of the Chamalières heights.
On the heights of Chamalières watches the chapel of the Hermitage. If the hikers know the place well, a large part of the inhabitants stick to observing it from the city. And yet, this building is worth the detour, at least for its magnificent view and the tranquility of the place. It is the mortuary chapel of the sisters of the Congregation of Saint Mary of the Assumption. Founded in 1825, the Congregation is dedicated to the care of the mentally ill. Above the crypt is the chapel room where the stained glass windows filter and colour the light.
