The Saint-Gilles ravine, which flows from the Éperon to the Port of Saint-Gilles, feeds several heavenly pools and waterfalls. Beware, access to most of them is forbidden since 2002 by prefectural decree, and, if everyone ignores it and passes anyway, know that the paths leading to them are not always easy to practice. The ponds supply Saint-Gilles with water. It is for the sake of hygiene and because the community fears that they will become a public dumping ground that they are forbidden to enter.

Un peu d'aventure! Le bassin des Cormorans n'est pas facile d'accès, il faut grimper sur des rochers, traverser une rivière, passer sous des branches ... Le bassin des Aigrettes est facile, tant que la porte n'est pas fermée, sinon il faut prévoir de se mouiller jusqu'à mi genou et de se pencher. La cascade est magnifique. Le bassin Malheur est le plus calme et le plus limpide, même s'il n'y a pas de cascade. Le sentier n'est pas facile à trouver, il faut suivre le canal qui est tout en haut et qui passe dans de petits tunnels.
Attention à ne pas tomber, tout de même!

Bassin superbe, petite marche en descente pour y accéder, sentier très agréable avec à la fin un petit passage dans l'eau pour accéder à la cascade.
Eau fraiche mais raffraichissante et le panorama en vaut la peine !

The pools are not easy to find, the best is to follow the buildings that go there at any time during the week and on weekends. Indeed, the very fresh water of the pools is a superb alternative to sea water sometimes too hot (!). The Aigrette with its waterfall and its clear water is ideal. Do not try in rainy weather or menacing.
