The discreet Pilou, a fine cook and a great connoisseur of funny stories, welcomes his guests to the last house on the road to the Volcano. The main hut houses a museum of Lontan objects. This is also the place to enjoy aperitifs, meals and digestifs. If you're an amateur or simply curious about new sensations, or eager to chat with the owner who knows a lot about Réunion Island and hiking, the evening promises to be long and full of atmosphere! For your relaxation, a large bungalow with three bedrooms awaits you.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits chez Pilou et nous conseillons vivement ce gîte original et chaleureux. Nous avons très bien mangé et avons été très bien reçu, nos échanges sur la vie locale étaient très intéressants. Pour bien dormir bien mettre les 5 couvertures mises à disposition et pour la douche, c’est un peu technique, mais après une bonne rando sur le volcan, c’est un vrai bonheur cette douche bien chaude. Tout est dit dans le titre, nous avons eu très froid, il n'y a pas de chauffage dans les chambres ni la salle d'eau. Après un accueil très froid aussi, nous pensions nous réchauffer avec une bonne douche, raté, un filet d'eau seulement... Le repas n'était pas créole du tout (pizza, cube de thon décongelés sauce tomate crème, pommes de terre, carottes, gâteau marbré). L'hôte ne discute pas, malgré nos tentatives... Il reste assis à nous regarder... Aucun échange... Nous avons eu beaucoup de mal à dormir à cause du froid... Au petit déjeuner pain, confiture industrielle, beurre industriel, gâteau de la veille... Nous devions rester 2 nuits mais avons écourté.

Difficult to find, Marmite Lontan is really worth spending in addition to the poor explanation of the guides to find the place. It is warm, attentive and discreet yet we offers Cotton Flannel. A local culinary heritage revisited through the art of excellent cook. I will come back with great pleasure, and it is highly recommended!
