SAKURA-KINJOU
Sakura is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Colombo and also one of the most popular. The setting plays the traditional card to the hilt: small rooms closed by sliding doors made of rice paper, low tables and cushions laid on a bamboo mat. The waitresses, although Sri Lankan, are draped in a kimono. People come here especially for the excellent sushi, with rice that is neither too dry nor too filling. Nowadays it is doubled with a Chinese restaurant, the Kinjou. Nice service but a bit slow, especially on crowded evenings.
