Severely damaged following the 1996 attack on the Central Bank by the LTTE, the Central Point Building, built in 1914 by the architect Walker Adam, had been abandoned for many years. It now houses a two-story museum dedicated to the history of Sri Lankan currency from the 3rd century BC to the present day. This building is worth a visit to admire its wonderfully restored Greco-Roman inspired architecture.
