CASTLE OF MARCHIDIAL
Castle whose ruins are on a granite spur overlooking Champeix, composed of tower, square keep, ramparts and chapel.
The ruins of the Marchidial castle are located on a granite spur overlooking the village of Champeix. As soon as you arrive in the village, your attention will inevitably be drawn to these curious ruins which sit amongst the vines and gardens. On foot from the village centre or by car following the signs, you can discover the 8th century fortifications, the 12th and 13th century tower and chapel, as well as the large square keep and the ramparts. The view on Champeix and its surroundings is superb.
