This Buddhist temple is located on a small island, named Golden Island, facing the beach of Matara. It is connected to the mainland by a steel suspension bridge, pedestrian, in rather bad condition. Wooden boards have been added here and there to consolidate it. At the time of our visit in February 2022, renovation and expansion of the place were underway. At the entrance, a person will try to extort a donation of 500 Rs from you, be aware that this is a "donation" to the temple (in theory...) and that it is absolutely not necessary...
