This temple dedicated to Vishnu dates back to the 18th century and houses many musical instruments and accessories used during the Esala Perahera festival. Vishnu is considered to be one of the four protective deities of the Tooth Relic. This temple has had many different names, attaching it to different gods, and later writings, such as the 19th century poem Ehelapola Varnanawa, refer to this temple as Rama's. The view of Temple Square from the first steps is remarkable and worth a visit in itself.
