The National Museum of Kandy, which adjoins the Temple of the Tooth, is housed in a beautiful building that was the former palace of the royal concubines (late 18th century). It has been completely renovated for several years and reopened in late 2020. The museum has a remarkable collection of artifacts, including costumes, crockery, weapons and cabinetry, over 5,000 pieces dating from the Kandy period (17th-19th century). An interesting visit to learn about the history of the city.
