Built in 1925, the Hantane Tea Factory was abandoned for more than ten years before several tea associations decided to turn it into a museum. The ground floor and the first floor are occupied by an exhibition of old machines and production tools. Old dryers, sorting machines and crushers bear witness to the beginnings of tea production on the island. The second floor consists of a library and an auditorium. The third floor is dedicated to the sale of tea, and the top floor hosts a restaurant with a panoramic view of Kandy.
