In the old town, close to the lake and ruins, off the street and in a quiet environment. This modest guesthouse is held by a couple whose husband is a former policeman. 6 rooms with fan and nets or air conditioning are available, as well ascabanas in the garden. Bicycle rental and Jeep safari excursions in several surrounding natural parks, including Minneriya National Park and Kaudulla National Park. No email address. Despite a fairly enthusiastic opinion on our last visit, the quality of the accommodation was down at the beginning of 2013, with a steady increase in rates. Check with yourself if the situation has changed before making your choice.

Samudra is asked for information by Petit Futé including " a favourite assuré". It is wondered whether it is the same address or if the owner of the place, read the PF, did not take the famous. The place is to be avoided so for (not in fact), the antipathy of people who draw the mouth if you have the impertinence not eat on site, malay, insecurity (electric wires bare on the shower head: must explain me...). For roof, the price is overrated and does not include breakfast. The only attraction, really, it is to be closer to the city than the others guesthouses scattered throughout the rice fields. If you have a way to travel, especially to go! (Ah, I forgot: electricity is cut during the afternoon and landlord passes behind you check if you did not leave the fan lit before the cut electricity).
We spent a night in this guesthouse only one night in March 2012 (1st room on the left) and we must admit that the only attraction of this hotel is its proximity to the archaeological site. The bathroom is " limite" in terms of cleanliness, very firm, bathroom linens and linen dubious, noisy and dusty air-conditioning, the very light breakfast (slow service). In short, a value for money not great. We did not have good appreciation of Petit Futé (last edition). NB: we threw an eye in one of the " cabanas" garden... ouh it! the rooms are luxurious next door!
