This is an Ekho property, an excellent Sri Lankan hotel chain, located on the east bank of the reservoir, 200 meters from the archaeological museum. After a complete renovation in 2013 and a name change, Ekho Lake House has become a very nice establishment offering 14 luxurious rooms, including a suite. The architecture of the building, which dates back to 1870, is superb, and both the terrace and the dining room offer a very pleasant view of the lake. The pride of the establishment is to have welcomed in one of its rooms the Queen Elizabeth II in 1954.
