The Vavuniya Archeological Museum is located at the main intersection of the city. It is a minor museum in which are exposed objects, figurines and statuettes in terra cotta, engraved stones, statues of Buddha and gods of the Hindu pantheon, coming from the north of the country (Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannar...). The whole covers a period from the 7th to the 17th century. This museum is not very interesting and one can ignore its visit.
