This beautiful, pristine white colonial building dates from 1602. It is the former residence of the Dutch Navy Commissioner. Severely damaged during the war, it has been completely rehabilitated and since 2013 houses the city's Maritime and Historical Museum. On the ground floor, there are several rooms dedicated to the history of shipping, archaeological research in the nearby sea area and the early conquerors of Trincomalee.
