Halfway between Kallady Bridge and the lighthouse, the Mamagam Kovil, or Sri Mamangeswarar Kovil, is an important temple for Hindus. Indeed, it is said to have been built at the exact spot where Rama made his prayers to Shiva. Rama is said to have placed a rice ball on the Shiva Lingam, which gave the temple its name. Thousands of pilgrims visit it during the 10-day festival in July. This colourful temple can be visited in a short time.
