This Peace Pagoda, also called Saama Chaithya, was dedicated in 1988, under the auspices of the Japanese monk Nichidatsu Fuhi Thero (1885-1985), founder of the Nipponzan-Myōhōji-Daisanga Buddhist Order. The pagoda, about 25 meters in diameter, is overlooked by ninety-nine ornamental pagodas arranged on the roof. The pagoda is accessed by a walkway in the middle of which one can turn off to go to the temple built in 1982. At the intersection, the "Fountain of Life" is both a watering hole and a memorial unveiled in 2009.
