BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE COL DE SAVERNE
Botanical garden created by pharmacist-botanist Émile Walter, home to France's largest collection of orchids
Émile Walter, a pharmacist and botanist, created this garden in 1931, bringing together over 2,000 plant varieties. It's a veritable labyrinth of peat bogs, ponds, dry, carnivorous, insectivorous and aquatic plants. The garden boasts the largest collection of orchids in France, as well as 80 species of fern. Three circuits are available to discover the garden. Enjoy exhibitions and workshops on insects, bulbous plants and spices.
