PALACIO BAROLO
An imposing building inspired by Dante's Italian masterpiece The Divine Comedy, located between the Congreso and the Casa Rosada.
Located between the Congreso and the Casa Rosada, the Avenue de Mayo is sometimes compared to the Champs-Elysées; the imposing Palacio Barolo has something to do with it. A project of disproportionate architecture wanted by the Italian entrepreneur, Luis Barolo, who decided, after having made his fortune in the textile industry, to build this building, classified as a Historic Monument. Construction did not begin until 1919, under the creative eye of the Italian-Argentinean architect Mario Palanti (1885-1979), who was inspired by the Italian masterpiece, Dante's Divine Comedy, to carry out this project.
