Buenos Aires city park, featuring an astonishing 23-metre-high metal flower with 6 giant petals, in the middle of the lake

In this park stands one of the famous symbols of the city of Buenos Aires, an astonishing metallic flower in the middle of a lake, called Floralis Genérica, designed from an alloy of aluminium and steel by the architect Eduardi Catalano and inaugurated in 2002. With its 23 m high, the flower and its six giant petals are illuminated and closed at night thanks to a hydraulic and photoelectric system that allows it, among other things, to "bloom" every morning at 8 am

Un des monuments le plus récent de Buenos aires. Grande fleur métallique très brillante qui s'ouvre et tourne selon l'orientation du soleil. Situé un peu loin du centre ville, facile d’accès a partir du cimetière de la recolata. Grande structure située dans un parc qui n'a pas grand intérêt, et avec une jolie pelouse toute grillée...

Giant metal Fleur in a park on the edge of the street, near a lake: to see passing in the neighbourhood. On weekends, many portenos come picnic in family; no real catering facilities, just a little fatty choripan......
