LEZAMA PARK
A park in Plaça de Lezama, with a colorful amphitheater that hosts concerts, retaining a popular atmosphere with its fair.
The Parque Lezama, which occupies the square of the same name, is on the border between San Telmo and La Boca. According to some historians, the city was founded here in 1536 by Pedro de Mendoza, whose statue stands at the entrance. This park overlooks La Boca and surrounds the Museo Histórico Nacional. In the face of San Telmo's booming boboism, Parque Lezama has managed to retain a popular atmosphere, with its more or less weekly craft fair (Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and its colorful amphitheater, which sometimes hosts concerts.
