PALERMO BOSQUES
President Domingo Faustini Sarmiento took the initiative of creating a park modelled on the Bois de Boulogne in Paris
In the eastern part of the Palermo district, 25 hectares of greenery make up this green lung of the city. During his presidency (1868-1874), Domingo Faustini Sarmiento took the initiative to create a park on the model of the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The French landscape architect Charles Thays was commissioned to design the park. The Bosques de Palermo also have the official name Parque Tres de Febrero. It is possible to enjoy the lake that surrounds the Rosedal by renting a boat or pedal boats: a bucolic moment guaranteed!
