EL VESUVIO
It was one of the very first glaciers in the city of Buenos Aires, some even say of the country! An Italian immigrant family imported with them a manual machine to make ice cream, in 1902 they opened the doors of El Vesuvio for the great pleasure of the Porteños. There are ice creams (opt for the dulce de leche or orange chocolate flavour), sweets and churros. The place regularly welcomed prestigious guests including Carlos Gardel, Jorge Luis Borges or Tita Merello, the most famous tango figures appear on the first floor of the establishment in the form of statuettes: those of Carlos Gardel, Animal Carmelo and Roberto Goyeneche. The shop was declared a "Buenos Aires General Interest Site" in 2006.
