CHATEAUGAY CASTLE
This castle is one of the few in the region to have escaped the major demolition campaigns.
Its keep is unmissable! It is certainly the most interesting part of the castle. Built in the 14th century, it is one of the only ones in the region to have escaped the demolition campaigns. Built by Pierre de Giac, chancellor of France, it was one of the components of a square plan, composed of several towers. It was only later that the Laqueuille family added the main buildings. In the courtyard, four wells serve as cisterns. A Renaissance door opens onto the spiral staircase of the keep. In summer, exhibitions and visits are organized.
