BASÍLICA NACIONAL NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LUJÁN
Gothic-style basilica with 80 stained-glass windows made in Bordeaux, welcoming millions of pilgrims every year
The Gothic-style basilica is framed by two towers over 100 metres high. Inaugurated in 1932, its walls are covered with ex-votos in the purest Latin American tradition. These are thank-you plaques affixed by the faithful after their wishes have been granted. The 80 stained-glass windows were made in Bordeaux. The crypt houses altars dedicated to the many virgins venerated throughout the continent. Some 6 million pilgrims visit it every year.
