First wheat mill in the Colón region, built in the Dutch style and requiring a lot of wind to operate

The first wheat mill in the region, dating back to 1887, it was founded by French, Savoyards and Swiss who had established a small colony in the area since the mid-1850s. The mill bears the name of its builder: Jean-Baptiste Forclaz, who arrived in the region in 1859. The mill was designed to grind wheat and corn. It was built in the Dutch style, and required a lot of wind to operate. However, the area is not very windy, so it would seem that the mill was never fully operational...

The city of colon is worth visiting for the atmosphere but not really for its monuments. The banks of the river are the main attraction.
