Inaugurated in 1893, the statue you can admire on the peak Alibert has an impressive base, measuring more than 3 metres high. It was built by Jean-Pierre Alibert. This engineer, who regularly went to Mount Batougol in Siberia to carry out various searches - he discovered graphite in particular - was suffering from rheumatism and relieved his pains by making cures in Châteauneuf-les-Bains. Believing that he had escaped from death thanks to the Virgin, he decided to pay homage by erecting this statue. You can access it through a staircase. Beautiful view of the. valley.
