El Cairo is in the minds of the Rosarinos what the Tortoni can represent for the Porteños. It is the city's legendary café. Opened in 1943, at the time it attracted journalists, artists and intellectuals over a drink to talk about football or politics. A statue of the writer Roberto Fontanarrosa recalls that time. In the morning, it is ideal to come and have a lágrima (more milk than coffee) accompanied by a carlitos (toast with ham, cheese and ketchup). There are also books and jazz concerts.
