New cathedral in Stalinist architectural style with a 51 m-high campanile, featuring a Big Ben-type clock

One cannot fail to notice this building, particularly atypical for a cathedral, which stands on the main square. The inhabitants would be rather proud of their new cathedral, completed at the end of 1979. The first cathedral was built by the Society of Jesus in 1712, but it was devastated by an earthquake in 1944. Described as a modern building, it is reminiscent of the Stalinist architectural style. You can still climb to the top of the campanile (51 meters) to enjoy the view. It contains a Big Ben type clock.
