CATEDRAL IGLESIA
Eclectic-style church with 2 3-storey towers framing a transept and a cupola, hosting night masses
Its construction began in 1845, on the site of a series of adobe (mud) churches that had been built there since the beginning of colonization. Its eclectic style makes it one of the first neoclassical buildings in the country. The two three-storey towers frame a transept topped by a dome. The bas-relief of the porch represents the crossing of Moses in the desert. Inside you will be able to see the wooden cross of Ibatín, the place where the city was first founded. To be visited during the day but also during the night masses, it is well lit.
